The Altar Guild prepares communion each week and
changes the altar cloths and wall banners as needed. Any individual or couple can do this
job. The team has been set up with
two or more members assigned each month.
When and by whom the communion set-up and clean up is done is largely
determined by the members. For
example, services, weeks and specific duties can be alternated on each team, as
they desire. The entire process of
communion set up and clean up takes about one hour each week. Altar cloths and banners are changed
periodically with the church seasons.
Changing these banners and cloths takes about one half an hour. Additionally, a couple of times a year
the altar silver needs polishing.
Written directions and personal training are provided for all team
members.
