GIRLS OF GRACE

NATIONAL CONFERENCE

 Girls Of Grace Website

On Saturday, February 23rd, 2008, Grace Lutheran Ministries hosted “The Girls of Grace Nation Simulcast” that was broadcast live from White's Chapel United Methodist Church located in Southlake, TX. There were twenty-six girls in grades 7th-12th that attended the spirit-filled program which included several Christian speakers, bands, and soloists. Their focus was to spread God’s guidance specific to girls' relationships. One of the speakers, Chris Wheeler helped the girls to see that believing in Jesus as Lord of Lords and King of Kings makes us children of the King and therefore make us a princess. We should, as daughters of the King, expect no less than to be treated (by boys) like a princess. A surprise musical guest, Chris Slide of American Idol shared with us a beautiful song that he wrote himself.

Fourteen girls received scholarships to the enlightening day. A huge THANKS to those who donated toward the scholarships. We raffled off two iPod shuffles, four music CD’s, a Girls of Grace devotional, journal, Bible study workbook and an autographed copy of the listening guide. The CLC donated twelve teen girl’s Bibles that were given away with a prayer spoken over each girl that received one. THANKS Selene & Jim!!

We had a surprise guest speaker of our own on site. Jacquie Verbocy gave her personal testimonial as a 21 year old single mother of 2 children. Her emotion-filled story certainly touched and influenced the girls. THANKS Jacquie!!

Mike Verbocy and his crew cooked a hot lunch for the 26 girls in attendance, as well as for the 16 adults who were present to facilitate a positive conclusion to the day.
