My favorite paragraph in book “The Purpose
Driven Life” says, “When you think about a problem over and over in your
mind, that’s called worry. When you think about God’s Word over and over in
your mind, that’s meditation. If you know how to worry, (anybody out there
not know how to worry?) then you already know how to meditate. You just need
to switch your attention from your problems to Bible verses. The more you
meditate on God’s Word, the less you will have to worry about!”
Maybe the reason I like that paragraph so
much is because it fits so well with the Bible verse that changed my life
and faith as a teenager - John 20:30-31, “Jesus did many other miraculous
signs in the presence of His disciples which are not recorded in this book.
But these are written that YOU may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son
of God, and that by believing YOU may have life in His name!” (Emphasis
mine)
Believing that God’s Word is true and having
seen the power of alignment at work in our Grace family through “40 Days of
Purpose,” I am extremely excited about our next faith journey, “50 Days of
Grace – Growing as an Acts 2 Congregation.” It is based on the 50 days
after Easter that lead up to Pentecost, and the belief that God is willing
to pour out His Pentecost power upon us through His Word and prayer. All you
do is pick up your “50 Days” guide from church and then read a chapter a day
from John and Acts which will take us up to the day of Pentecost.
With all of God’s people at Grace reading
the same passages and praying for Grace to be filled with the Holy Spirit
like the first church at Pentecost, I am believing that God WILL do a mighty
work as we praise Him and enjoy the favor of all the people and as He adds
to our number daily those who are being saved? Will you believe with me?
