Christmas Dreams Discussed;
Voices of Bethlehem Heard
It doesn’t seem possible, but one of the highlights of the Christian
calendar is just weeks away. As we move toward this most blessed event, the
birth of Jesus, it is time for reflection about our Christian heritage.
To that end, Grace Lutheran Ministries has scheduled four Wednesday night
Advent services to help stimulate our thinking about the events that led to
the night Christ Jesus was born.
Wednesday evening, November 28 at 7:00 pm the GLM Network will go on the air
in our sanctuary with our first program in a series of three. The GLM View,
our rendition of a popular TV panel talk show, will discuss Joseph’s dream
of the birth of Jesus.
GLM View Host Pastor
John Schubert and Co-Anchor
Diane Arnett
will welcome guests
Stacia Roggenbaum and
Duane Pletcher
for the discussion
Joseph
Dreams of a Wondrous Birth based on
Matthew 1:20.
One week later (Wednesday, Dec. 5), our panel will continue the study of the
Christmas Dreams with a discussion titled
Wise Men
Dream of a Dangerous King based on
Matthew 2:12.
On Wednesday, December 12, the group will present
Joseph
Dreams of Safety in Egypt based on
Matthew 2:13.
These three panel discussions are designed to bring us to the 4th
Wednesday in Advent where approximately 19 members of our congregation will
assume the roles of characters who might have been present in Bethlehem at
the manger or who might have had some direct connection with those who did
witness first hand this wondrous event.
This audience participation drama titled
Voices of
Bethlehem is written by Mary Lou Williams, an
acclaimed author of Christian dramatic readings and plays.
Join us for the stirring message this drama presents as the cast of your
fellow Christians gather in this tableau around the manger in Bethlehem.
Mark all four Wednesdays of Advent on your calendars and don’t miss a single
one; they promise to bring you additional insight into the lives of the
participants and the events surrounding the nativity of our Lord.
