HISTORY
Cross Power grew
out of a vision to see young people in church. It also recognized the
need to meet people where they are. And so, a unique blend of ideas
gradually came together to make this happen.
Crosswalk
began in February
2005, and Power Hour in February 2007 both with an average of about 10 to 20
people participating. Since then, Crosswalk will average about 20 to 30
in the summer, and 40 to 60 in the winter. As of the winter of 2007/2008 Power
Hour is averaging between 20 to 30.
At both services there is a mix of "churched" and "unchurched" youth
with about half actively involved in leading the services in every aspect from
running the power point, praying, reading aloud, teaching, preparing food, and
whatever else needs to happen for the service to happen. These actively involved youth can be a real inspiration to those
of us who thought worship was just sitting quietly in a pew
and watching the pastor do everything. |
